Developing a certified machine-shop capability

UPS is developing its capabilities beyond consultancy and manpower support. The company profile outlines the development of a certified machine-shop capability intended to support the manufacture and servicing of selected drilling tools and equipment.

The planned scope includes manufacturing subs and cross-over subs, repairing drilling tools and equipment, redressing and grinding integrated-blade stabilizers, and re-cutting and re-threading drill collars, drill pipes, tubing and casing. These capabilities are presented as developing until the facility, certification and services are fully operational.
